Alum Creek

Alum is 6 miles north of Columbus, on Route 23 at Lewis Center. The lakes runs north past Route 36.

Alum creek is a fun place to go boating, but can get really busy and rough on a nice weekend. To make the day better, get your boat in by 8 to 9am, and either load up mid-afternoon or wait till just after dark. They have plenty of campsites, get yours 3 days ahead of a holiday. The Marina has rental docks, docks, gas dock, snack bar, restrooms, and plenty of parking. There are plenty of coves around the lake to spend some time. The beach is plenty big, and you can pull your boat up on the north end.
There are 3 launch ramps to pick from. The least busy ramp is ussually the one on the North East end of the lake.
